Mark Gooding

Mark Gooding

A lifelong student of the sea, Mark Gooding brings a profound, holistic understanding of the ocean to everything he teaches. Guided by a passion for marine conservation, he has spent years weaving together the disciplines of freediving and yoga, fostering a mindful, embodied connection to the underwater world.

Mark’s professional diving career has spanned an extraordinary range, from deep sea saturation and conservation diving to blockbuster film productions and world-championship freediving. Along the way, he has shared his expertise with students across the globe, always seeking to inspire a deeper respect for the marine environment.

As an educator, Mark is committed to guiding others on their own journeys into the depths. His teaching emphasizes breath, awareness, and harmony with the sea, encouraging divers to move beyond mere technique toward a relationship with the ocean that is both personal and profound. In his holistic approach to freediving, Mark invites you to explore not just the depths of the water, but the depths within themselves.

Mark’s Journey

Mark’s freediving journey began in 2002, and by 2011 he had qualified as a freediving instructor. He represented Team GB at the World Championships in both 2013 and 2016. After stepping away from competitive freediving, Mark shifted his focus toward yoga and a more holistic approach to the sport, blending breath, body, and mind in his teaching.

Pallavi Dodia is a master yoga teacher and specialist physiotherapist whose work bridges the ancient wisdom of Yoga with modern therapeutic science. With over a decade of international experience in health, wellness, and yoga education, she embodies the art of conscious movement and holistic living.

Rooted in her Indian heritage and trained under authentic Gurus in Kerala and Rishikesh (the birthplace of Yoga) Pallavi’s teachings flow from the deep traditions of Vedanta and the Himalayan Yogic lineage. At our Bohdi Blue retreats, Pallavi weaves Yogic tradition, Vedantic philosophy, and embodied awareness into a profound oceanic experience, where breath, movement, and consciousness merge as one continuum of being.

As a physiotherapist, massage therapist, and aquatic therapist, Pallavi integrates the science of anatomy with the spiritual depth of yoga. Her multidimensional approach unites Hatha, Kriya, Meditation, Pranayama, Mindfulness, and Yogic Philosophy, guiding students through an experiential journey that nourishes body, mind, and spirit.
